Design of Steel Structures
This book presents the rules for the design of steel buildings according to
the above Eurocodes, covering the structure as a whole, as well as the
design of individual structural members and connections. The presentation is
supplemented by many numerical examples. Specific sections of the book are
dedicated to the conceptual design, the fabrication and erection phases and
the quality requirements. Rules for the seismic design, when required, are
also included. The text is organized in 9 chapters.
Chapters 1-5 deal with the methods of analysis, the limit states of design
and the resistances of cross-sections, members and connections, while
chapters 6-8 are related to the conceptual design of single and multi storey
buildings as well as to the fabrication methods and the quality control.
Chapter 9 includes numerical applications of the design rules in the form of
52 design examples.
